PD Dr. Hamza completed his first degree in dentistry at the University of Damascus, Syria, from 2002 to 2007. He then earned a Master of Science in Paediatric Dentistry there between 2007 and 2012. In Switzerland, he completed his second undergraduate degree in dentistry at the University of Zurich in 2018, graduating with distinction (summa cum laude). He subsequently worked for two years as a resident dentist at the Clinic of Conservative and Preventive Dentistry at the University of Zurich. From 2020 to 2023, he successfully completed the postgraduate program in Paediatric Dentistry, accredited by the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry (EAPD), at the Clinic of Orthodontics and Paediatric Dentistry at the University of Zurich.

In addition to his work in patient care, research, and teaching, Dr. Hamza is a member of the Special Interest Group of the Swiss Society for Paediatric Dentistry (SVK) as well as the Education Committee of the European Academy of Paediatric Dentistry. His outstanding teaching was recognized in 2024 when students at the Center of Dental Medicine of the University of Zurich awarded him Teacher of the Year.
